A Message for Dissertation Chairs and Committee Members
At The Thesis Genius Co., I partner with graduate students and their committees to ensure that dissertations, theses, and capstone projects meet the highest standards of academic writing and formatting.
My services are designed not to replace your guidance, but to support it, which reduces your workload and improving the quality and clarity of student submissions.
My Role as an Editor and Coach
I work with graduate students to:
- Correct grammar, punctuation, and APA/MLA/university-specific formatting issues
- Improve structure, cohesion, and academic tone
- Clarify language while preserving author voice and intent
- Provide strategic coaching on organization and progress (when requested)
I do not:
- Write or rewrite content
- Conduct analysis or develop arguments, methodologies, research questions, etc.
- Generate new material
- "Pass" papers or circumvent committee input
All student writing remains their own. My work ensures it’s communicated clearly, ethically, and in the appropriate academic style.
Supporting the Chair–Student Relationship
As a former university writing advisor, professor, and editor for more than 30 years, I understand the pressures of dissertation supervision. I help students meet expectations more quickly and confidently, which ultimately supports your efforts, not competes with them.
Many chairs have referred students to me for:
- Clarifying recurring writing issues
- Reducing back-and-forth revision cycles
- Ensuring final formatting is accurate and committee-ready
Editing for Non-Native English Writers
I specialize in working with multilingual students and writers from non-standard English backgrounds. My background in TESOL, applied linguistics, and second language acquisition ensures my editing supports clarity without erasing the students' voice, and without penalizing or reducing language difference.
Please feel free to direct your students to contact me at
